The quality characteristics of finished paper are determined by the fiber properties, which in turn depend on the type of fibers and the treatment during stock operation, the auxiliary agents and additives, and the process conditions on the paper machine. This first comprehensive handbook on the subject describes the manufacturing processes of various types of papers, recovered paper treatment, as well as the quality and economical aspects.
